From Page to Stage!
Denia Kirk adapted Willie the Weed by Erick Baker into a children's theatre production, premiering a heartwarming tale of an unexpected hero discovering kindness, resilience, and belonging. Featuring Webb Lower School students, choreography by Christy House, and the original song Good to Bee Me! by Darin Starr and Denia Kirk, the show celebrated the courage to be oneself and the beauty of kindness taking root in unexpected places.

Denia Devon Kirk is a passionate theatre artist with diverse experience in directing and performance. Her directing credits include Gothic Cabaret, The Last Five Years, Willie the Weed, Scenes from Alice in Wonderland, The Velveteen Rabbit, The Muppet Show, The Looney Tunes Show, American History Time Machine, It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown! and Where the Wild Things Are. She has also worked professionally with Blue Ridge Dinner Theatre and The Jack Tale Players, and served as a properties master for Clarence Brown Theatre.
As a performer, a few of her favorite roles include Dancing at Lughnasa (Maggie), The Women (Mary), The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Schwartzy), The Full Monty (Pam), The Boys Next Door (Sheila), Underwater Flight Patterns(Low), The Children's Hour (Martha), The Apple Tree (Eve), Once Upon a Mattress (Narrator), Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Mrs. Potiphar/Chorus), Cinderella (Prunella) and Cabaret (Lulu).
In addition to her work in theatre, she is a seasoned vocalist and has performed with several rock bands, including Soul Candy and the Traffic Jam, Wabi Sabi and the Perfect Fifth, Dave and Denia, and Sketch Eclectic.
